Editorial Policy
How we source information, what our accuracy labels mean, and how corrections work.
Why this matters
Before a Rockstar game launches, the gap between what is known and what is claimed is enormous. Rumours circulate, get repeated, and harden into things people believe are facts. This policy exists so you can tell, on any page of this site, how much weight a given claim deserves.
Accuracy labels
Every database entry carries one of four labels, shown on the entry itself.
- Confirmed. Verified against official Rockstar Games or Take-Two material, such as a trailer, a press release, official artwork or the shipped game itself. This is what we are aiming for on every entry.
- Reported. Reported by an outlet with a track record of accuracy, but not officially confirmed. Credible, but not settled.
- Rumoured. Circulating without solid backing. Treat it as speculation. Rumoured entries are visually distinct from verified ones and carry an explicit notice.
- Unverified. No status has been recorded yet.
Rumoured information is never presented as though it were confirmed. Where an entry is not confirmed, that is stated on the page, not buried in a footnote.
Sources
Entries can carry one or more sources, each recording where the information came from, who published it, when, whether it is an official source, and when we last accessed it. Where sources exist they are listed on the entry.
We categorise sources as official, in-game, publisher, developer, press, community or other.
Updates
GTA 6 information will change frequently, particularly around launch. Every entry records when it was created, last updated and published, and the last-updated date is shown on the page. When new information supersedes old information, we update the entry and change its accuracy label rather than leaving a stale claim in place.
When a page’s URL changes, we create a redirect from the old address, so links and bookmarks keep working.
Empty sections
Where we have nothing sourced to publish, the section stays empty and explains why. We do not invent entries to make the database look fuller, and we do not pad pages with speculation to have something to rank.
Demo content
During development, a small number of clearly-labelled sample records may exist to demonstrate layouts. These carry a visible Demo badge and are not claims about the game.
Commercial independence
Some pages carry affiliate links, and we may earn a commission from purchases made through them. No retailer, brand or advertiser has any say over our database entries, our recommendations, or the order in which anything appears. Commercial sections are labelled, and the database itself carries no paid placements. See our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
If you find an error, please tell us. Every database entry links to the correction form, and you can also use it directly. Submissions that include a source are actioned considerably faster. We review every submission, and we correct the record rather than quietly deleting it.
