Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and the things we have deliberately chosen not to collect.

Who we are

GTA6BOOK is an independent fan-made website. We are not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.

If you do not have an account

You can browse the entire database without giving us anything. We do not require an account to read.

We do record two things about anonymous visits:

  • Search queries. The words you searched for and how many results came back. This shows us which GTA 6 content is missing from the database. It is not linked to you.
  • Affiliate link clicks. Which link was clicked, from which page. This is stored with a short-lived identifier derived from a rotating cookie value combined with the date, which cannot be reversed and changes daily. We do not store your IP address or your browser’s user agent alongside it.

If you create an account

Accounts are handled by Supabase Auth. We store:

  • Your email address, used only to sign you in and to send password resets. It is never displayed publicly and never sold or shared.
  • A display name that you choose.
  • Your progress: which missions, collectibles, achievements, vehicles, weapons and locations you have marked, and which entries you have saved.

Your progress is private to you. It is enforced at the database level, not merely hidden in the interface: the security rules only permit an account to read and write its own rows.

Cookies

We use a session cookie when you are signed in, and a short-lived cookie for affiliate click attribution which expires after one day. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. See our cookie policy.

Analytics

The site is built so that an analytics provider can be configured, but none loads unless one has been explicitly set up. When none is configured, no third-party analytics script is served at all.

Forms

Correction and contact submissions are stored so an editor can act on them. An email address on a correction form is optional and used only to follow up on that specific submission.

Who we share data with

Our hosting provider and our database provider process data on our behalf in order to run the site. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave this site and the retailer’s own privacy policy applies. We send no personal information to them, and the outbound request carries no referrer.

Your rights

You can change your display name at any time from your account. To request a copy of your data, or to have your account and its progress deleted, contact us and we will action it.

An honest note about this document

This policy describes what the site actually does, written from the implementation. It is not legal advice, it has not been reviewed by a qualified solicitor, and it does not on its own constitute compliance with the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, CCPA or any other regime. Before operating this site commercially you should have it reviewed properly and updated to name your actual data controller, retention periods and legal bases.
